Rewire your brain for positive change
What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
In Clinical Hypnotherapy, a certified therapist uses personalized visualizations, cues, and suggestions to guide you. These techniques help you enter a relaxed, focused trance state, allowing you to connect with your subconscious mind, which controls 95% of brain activity.
Hypnotherapy harnesses the brain’s remarkable ability to rewire itself by collapsing old neural pathways and strengthening healthier ones, leading you to greater control over your behaviour, emotions, and wellbeing.
Clients particularly appreciate how quickly they see results with hypnotherapy compared to other treatments. Another benefit is that it is a drug-free, non-invasive approach.
Did you know? You are a Natural!
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. We all experience a light form of hypnosis when we become deeply absorbed in a movie, lose track of time, experience “road trance”, daydream, or drift off just before falling asleep.
What is it good for?
Hypnotherapy helps manage psychological and physical symptoms of various conditions. While not a cure, it can significantly improve these conditions. It can be effective as a stand-alone or alongside other health treatments.

What to consider when choosing Hypnotherapy?
Clinical Hypnotherapy complements medical, dental, or psychological treatments. Anyone with a medical or psychological concern should consult a healthcare provider before seeing a hypnotherapist.
Hypnosis should be performed by qualified professionals. In Canada, where hypnotherapy is unregulated, it’s crucial to choose an accredited hypnotherapist.
The Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists Canada (ARCH) is the only accrediting body in the country that requires a criminal background check, including a vulnerable sector check, and upholds the highest education standards. Ilona is a trained, registered, and proud member of ARCH.
Is Hypnotherapy safe?
Contrary to popular belief, hypnotherapy is not about stage performances or swinging pocket watches with people losing control. The person undergoing hypnosis does not lose control, put themselves in danger or become unconscious. You cannot be made to do anything against your will. In fact, hypnotherapy is only effective if the client is on board with it. You remain fully in control throughout the session and can exit the hypnotic state whenever you choose.
Additionally, you cannot get "stuck" in hypnosis. Your mind will naturally return to full awareness, and a skilled hypnotherapist will always guide you back at the end of the session.
What does Science say about Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is not new. Some of the techniques used today have been practiced since ancient times. With the growing acceptance of hypnotherapy in mainstream medicine and psychology, an increasing number of medical institutions and organizations worldwide are applying hypnotherapy alongside traditional therapies to improve outcomes. Among them are the Mayo Clinics in the U.S., and Geneva University Hospitals in Switzerland.
Numerous studies in neuroscience highlight the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for both mental and physical health. By using neuro imaging, scientists proof how hypnosis affects brain activity, particularly in attention, perception, and memory. Countless studies show that hypnotherapy can help manage pain, anxiety, phobias, and trauma. Hypnotherapy also supports neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to reorganize itself —allowing the brain to form new neural connections and shift habits. Additionally, it is suggested to promote positive epigenetic changes related to stress response, immune function, and emotional regulation.
